The beginning...

'LENGA910' simply combines two words that have symbolic reference to my interests and disciplines.

'Lenga' means 'bricks' in Japanese and signifies my appreciation in this material and its associated characters.
They are traditional building material with rich historical context but are also 'progressive' in a sense that bricks can/will still  be developed in many other ways in the future - it is a material full of potential and sophistication.
Living in Europe for the majority of my life have given me opportunities to experience many faces/expressions of masonry construction and I have grown to become fascinated with the infinite possibilities on how we, as architects/designers, may evolve their significance in the field of architecture and spatial design.

'910' on the other hand refers to a metric dimension of a tatami mat (typical tatami = 910x1820mm).
Tatami mats and their configuration have significant importance in the history of Japanese architecture/dwelling, and many spatial designs still base their layout on these ratios.
Being a designer with hybrid backgrounds (Japanese and European culture), it seems appropriate these two words come into contact to form an identity-name for my future works.

My immediate aspiration is to make LENGA910 become my vehicle/tool that generates work with multi-disciplinary vision, which would hopefully start triggering opportunities for new encounters and exciting collaborations.
